Swansea is a neighbourhood in the city of TorontoOntarioCanada, bounded on the west by the Humber Riveron the north by Bloor Streeton the east by High Park and on the south by Lake Ontario. The western half of what is now Swansea was originally the home of Toronto's first European inhabitant, Jean Baptiste Rousseaua French fur trader, who was permitted to occupy the site of a former French Fort at the foot of the Humber River  after the fall of the French Regime.
